Model making as a design tool

From hand-made sketch models to crafted and digitally fabricated presentation models, Green Mat Workshop integrate model making into the design process.

We deliver in-person and online at numerous universities including The Bartlett UCL, Oxford School of Architecture and Westminster University.

Effective visualisation workflows

Green Mat Workshop teach pragmatic visualisation techniques that help students rapidly and coherently showcase their design thinking.

We adopt an inclusive approach that welcomes all skill levels, from beginners to final years. Our workshops are bespoke and can be offered as standalone sessions or integrated within a brief.

Portfolios that communicate

Our workshops address the core principles that underpin effective visual communication, alongside practical techniques to apply them.

We have over 25 years of academic and professional experience as tutors, project leads and hiring managers.

Core software skills

Using industry standard software we focus on efficient use—what do students need to know on a deadline?

We cover a broad range of software, from Adobe's Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign, to 3D modelling and rendering tools such as Rhino 3D, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Twinmotion, Enscape, and Vray.
